Thehistory of Fort Ingall is the basis of the permanent exhibition. A review of the geopolitical context of the era allows tourists to understand the reason of its existence. Reviewed are the various periods of occupation of the Fort, as well as people who lived in it.

Several of the 55 000 artefacts discovered during the des archeological digs are displayed throughout the exhibition.
